Kenya
Joy Springs School in Kibera Slum, is located outside Nairobi. The Kibera Slum is one of the largest slums in the world; it is about 1.5 square miles (the same size as New York City's Central Park). Of the 1 million people living in the slum, 50,000 are AIDS orphans. Many of these children get trapped in the cycle of poverty because of lack of education.
Water of Life teams partner with Joy Springs by teaching Bible stories, singing songs, and playing games with the children as well as praying over the teachers and staff at the school.
Empowering Lives International (ELI) is also making a difference among the needy and spiritually lost in Kenya. Their ministry consists of strategically developed training centers, Christian Schools, orphanages, outreach events, camps, HIV/AIDS home-based care training and awareness campaigns, healthcare instruction, and programs to reach alcoholics. Their objective is to empower the lives of people in Kenya. Water of Life has partnered with ELI to lead women's conferences, youth outreaches, and various construction ministry projects.
