We are Water of Life

Day Five Devotional: Fasting & Prayer

Last night we did as the believers did in Acts; we gathered and ministered to the Lord in worship and prayer, believing God would show up and speak life to us as He did to them.

“While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.'
Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them,
they sent them away.” – Acts 13:2-3

I hope that you are partnering with us as we put ourselves and Water of Life before the Lord in 2016. As Isaiah 58 teaches us, so many lives are at stake. It is so full of promises and the Father’s heart; let me share it with you again:

6 “Is this not the fast which I choose,
to loosen the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the bands of the yoke,
and to let the oppressed go free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry
and bring the homel

Day Four Devotional: Fasting & Prayer

Any person who sets their heart before the Lord to do battle for others’ lives must know that Hebrews 11:6 holds a promise for them:

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”

The Bible is your tool for battle; it is the weapon of choice in our battle for lives, and we must read it. We must be in the Bible, especially when we are fasting. Jeremiah 36:6 says, “on a fast day…you shall read the words of the Lord." The Word is a shield about you.

The danger of spiritual battle is often not the enemy, but ourselves. See, I tend to think more highly of myself than I thought. How about you? It’s easy to do, especially if you are sacrificing for God. This in turn creates a very subtle spiritual pride that can kill your intercession.

Self-centeredness will sidetrack us quickly. Jesus spoke often of it:
